Schools of Feng Shui: The Compass School

Guidelines to applying Symbolism and the Five Elements of Feng Shui to empower your 8 Life Aspirations:

MENTOR and HELPFUL PEOPLE: NORTH WEST

The North West direction is related to the trigram Chien, and it is of the Element of Metal. Chien is the symbol of Heaven, the father and the patriarch of the family. When activated, it is believed to bring about help from "higher" power, i.e. Mentors or special people (the Chinese call these Gwei Ren). More Metal elements or Earth objects strengthen the Element of Metal. Anything that symbolizes status and power may also be helpful to enhance Mentor luck in this corner of the house.

A few suggestions on Feng Shui symbolism that can be employed in the North West sector are:

  • Kuan Yin Plaque
The Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin is a great Mentor to have. Having her to empower the Mentor sector of the house is very beneficial. It is like having the great Goddess over looking your endeavours, helping you and your family out whenever you are in need. The Kuan Yin plaque is made of brass and that is also a very strong metal force. Whether in Feng Shui symbolism or Five Element theories, they are excellent forms of enhancers for good mentor luck.
  • Kuan Kung
Almost every deity can make excellent Feng Shui symbolism in the Mentor aspiration sector of the house or office. However for those seeking status and power, Kuan Kung the God of War is especially appropriate.
  • Kei Lun, the Chinese Mythical Unicorn
Kei Lun or Qirin is the mythical animal that is said to bring about luck and fortune to whoever it appears to. If there is a window or door in the North West sector of your home, place a pair of Kei Lun facing outwards to draw in the Mentor luck you deserve.
