Schools of Feng Shui: The Compass School

Guidelines to applying Symbolism and the Five Elements of Feng Shui to empower your 8 Life Aspirations:

WEALTH and ABUNDANCE: SOUTH EAST

South East is associated with the Sun Trigram and is of the Element of Wood. In the teachings of the Ba Gua School, the South East sector relates to the wealth and abundance of the family.

  • Chan Chu, the Traditional Money Frog
Chan Chu is a mythical creature, somewhat like a three-legged frog. In its mouth is a Chinese Coin. It is said wherever the Chan Chu is seen, good fortune can' t be far behind! Chan Chu in Chinese traditions is regarded as the animal that brings wealth. It is an excellent way to boost the Wealth corner according to the Ba Gua School.
  • Pot of Gold
The Pot of Gold symbolises ABUNDANCE and a never-ending supply of wealth. This auspicious symbolism is very well suited to activate the South East corner of the home.
  • Maitreiya - the Laughing Buddha
The Maitreiya (Laughing Buddha) is not only a symbol of happiness, but also of Wealth and Abundance. It is said that Maitreiya carries with him a Bag that contains infinite wealth and riches. Make a wish and rub his bag twice a day. It is believed that he bestows the individual his or her wish if they are sincere and virtuous at heart. This magic bag is aptly named "Wong Kum Doi" (Gold Treasure Bag) in Chinese.
  • Fuk Luk Sau
The Three Star Gods, Fu Lu Shu are patron Chinese Gods of Happiness, Prosperity and Lonegvity. In most Chinese homes, these Gods are a favorite in their dining or living area. However you can have the Three Star Gods in your South East sector to symbolically empower your Wealth and Abundance luck.
