The Cast of East West Players' "Follies"

     Robert Almodovar appeared in "City of Angels" for American Theatreworks of San Jose (Mu?z).  He's worked overseas with Singapore Repertory Theater in "The Fantasticks" as Huclebee, "Little Shop of Horrors" as Mushnik, and "Into the Woods" as The Baker with Lea Salonga.  Locall appearances include the PAWS/LA benefit "Aardvarks to Zebras" at the Pasadena Playhouse and the APLA benefit "Sondheim III" at the Doolittle Theater.  EWP audiences have seen Robert in "Company" as Bobby, "Canton Jazz Club" as Phillip and "Sweeney Todd" as Sweeny, Uns.
 

     Yukari Asamoto-Black is thrilled to be in her first E.W.P. production.  No stranger to the stage, Yukari made her debut at age three in Japan.  Throughout her childhood, she enjoyed watching American film and television (she's a big fan of "Tom and Jerry"). She received a B.A. in Performing Arts from Tamagawa University.  Her favorite roles are Lady Thiang in "The King and I" and Titania in "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

 

     Kerry K. Carnahan is delighted to be returning to EWP in "Follies," having previously appeared as Gussie in EWP's 1995 production of "Merrily We Roll Along."  She credits Tim Dang and the EWP family for having given her the tools to continue pursuing theater.  Most recently she has appeared as Lady Thang in the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities' production of "The King and I," and at the mark taper Forum in David and Ain Gordon's "The First Picture Show" with Estelle Parsons and Ellen Green.  Regional credits include "A Chorus Line" (Connie Wong), and "The Wizard of Oz" with Cathy Rigby.  On television she has appeared in ABC's "General Hospital."  Born in Tokyo and raised in Los Angeles, Kerry is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine with a degree in Fine Arts, Dance.


     Linda Dangcil (Sally) has been onstage since she appeared in an act with her pianist brother, Mel, at the age of three.  She made her Broadway debut in the Mary Martin company of Peter Pan, and has since appeared in many plays and musicals such as "The King and I," "West Side Story," "Flower Drum Song," "The Uprooted," "Blood Wedding," "The Lesson," and as Diana in "A Chorus Line."  She's been regular on several television serious including "The Flying Nun," PBS's award-winning "Villa Alegre," "The Judge," and "The Young and the Restless," as well as having been a guest on countless others.  Her film credits include "The Young Savages," "The Magnificent Seven," "West Side Story," "Eldorado," "And the Earth Did Not Swollow Him," and the upcoming "Urban Love Story."  Linda is thrilled to be making her first appearance with EWP.
