Mike Zeigler Wins Gold Medal at
ESPN's Winter X-Games

10 year old fifth grader Mike Zeigler from Doylestown, Pennsylvania won the Gold medal at the X Games ProBoarder Video Game Competition, the first official extreme video games competition held by the X-Games. He told Asianconnections Mike Kai early in the competition, "I'm confident, I'm going to win this."

Zeigler defeated pro snowboarder Neil Lyons by scoring 9,067 pionts in the final round of the X Games ProBoarder video game competition to become the youngest Gold medalist in X-Games history. Zeigler was a finalist selected in a nationwide qualifying promotional event sponsored by Electronic Arts, creators of the X-Games ProBoarder Video Game for ESPN's Winter X-Games.

Finalists from around the country received prize money and were flown to the X-Games in Crested Butte, Colorado to compete against eight pro snowboarders featured in the video game at the final competition. Pros competing included Olympic medalist Shannon Dunn, Peter Line, Todd Richards and Tina Basich.

Zeigler, a straight A student and avid soccer and basketball player also has a Korean name, Woo In Hak, his given name before he was adopted at the age of 3 months by his proud parents Barbara and Richard Zeigler. His Dad says he's just as good in his soccer and basketball games, "he's fast."
