Quotable
"It's all about having fun."
Notable
Lincoln is a Japanese-Brazilian and is enjoying his current residence in sunny Southern California. He skateboards approximately 3 hours per day 4 days a week, and laughed when
we asked if he had any special diet.
His breathtaking high flying vert runs are spectacular and dazzled the crowds at the ESPN X Games. A favorite among his competitive peers, he competed against legends like Tony Hawk and
Andy McDonald at the recent X Games.
When he started skateboarding at age 14, he said he never expected to make a professional career out of it, one which would take him around the world. He thanks his mother and father for
their support.
"It's all about having fun," said Lincoln when asked about the stress that the commercial world wide competitions like ESPN's X Games can bring. "That's the most
important thing, to have fun." "Vert skating brings a certain kind of feeling, you don't even hear the crowds, you go into your own world," said Lincoln with a grin.
The art and skill of skateboarding requires a talent that is no less than that of a pro basketball player. It is shown in the fluid movements and style that each rider possesses.
Lincoln's riding is so distinct, both his peers and his audience were cheering as he pulled out ten foot airs and huge 540's to everyone's delight.
AsianConnections will continue to follow the bright career of this talented athlete.
