the treacherous 60 foot ice structure nearly to the top but slipped
out at the last moment before reaching her goal. Bird finished seventh
among the twelve world ranked women ice climbers. She remained a
crowd pleaser however and flashed a big smile after her ascent from

Comments
A practicing
acupuncturist, Bird says she has been studying neuro-muscular therapy.
She's also been reading about Buddhist approaches to active compassion
for her in her professional life and more for herself, on being
detached from materials things in a material world.
