On the eve of the premiere of his movie, "Rush Hour" and launch of his autobiography, Jackie Chan accepted the appointment as Hong Kong's Official Ambassador at a dazzling champagne reception at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

AsianConnections was there to cover the event last September, and now for the first time, as his movie hits video stores this summer, here are video clips and a transcript of his timeless comments on the art of filmmaking and his future plans for his career.

The celebration featured a book signing of his autobiography, "I Am Jackie Chan", lion dancers, Chinese Opera Singers, a Feng Shui Master, a traditional Chinese noodle puller, and models wearing hot Hong Kong based Flora Cheong-Leen's fashions.

Jackie told the audience and his co-host, Hong Kong Tourist Association's Regional Director Lily Shum," My given name,Chan Kong-sang means born in Hong Kong," said Jackie. "I guess my parents weren't very original when it came to names. Or maybe they just wanted to celebrate their relief at making it to Hong Kong!"
