The hottest producer in Japan, Tsunku (lead vocalist of Sharam Q), who is responsible for the current hit making idol group Morning Musume, Tanpopo, Pucchi Moni, T&C Bomber, Coconuts Musume and the idol color groups (members of the Tsunku family) has put together an album that was more than what the fans expected. For consistency, I will use last name first and first name last when listing an artists name. This is going to be a little difficult to explain but if
you are a beginner to Morning Musume's music, please read the following below: If you love idol pop and you love Morning Musume (Note: For new fans of Morning Musume, a lot of these groups listed below are smaller groups that consist of members from Morning Musume with the exception of Coconuts Musume [A four member idol group from Hawaii - All are natives, only two speak Japanese and they
sing Japanese songs/covers of Morning Musume or Tsunku related songs], T&C Bomba was known as Taiyou to Cisco Moon but recently changed their name (long story), the color groups Aoiiro 7 (Blue group 7), Akagumi 4 (Red group 4) and Kiiro 5 (Yellow group 5) are three groups which include a member from each group. The soloists on this album, Abe Natsumi is one of the lead vocalists of Morning Musume
and this song is from her SALA CM (shampoo commercial), Nakazawa Yuko is a member of Morning Musume and as a solo singer sings enka (a way to attract young listeners to enka -> equivalent to country music but for Japan) and Heike Michiyo is a solo singer. This album is a compilation of all members of the Tsunku family and you get the following hit songs on one album: 1. [Chokotto LOVE] By: Pucchimoni This album is pretty much a must-get! If you must buy one album to sample Japanese idol pop music today, this is the album. You get more than what is to be expected from this album. You get a large variety of Japanese idol pop music ala Tsunku's music family. The first track "Chokotto Love" is by Pucchi Moni. Three members of Morning Musume featuring one of their newest members, Goto Maki. This is a cute song that stayed in the charts at #1 for a long time last winter. Tracks 2 through 4 are the color groups. The most popular of the three in sales was "Akai Nikkichou" (Red Diary) due to the popularity of new Morning Musume member, Goto Maki. This song is a beautiful slow jam. "Kiiroi Ozora de Boom Boom Boom" (Yellow Sky Boom Boom Boom) is a cool disco-type dance song. "Aoi Sports Car no Otoko" (Guy's Blue Sports Car) by Aoiiro7 is a rock song which is more amazing when you see the music video and the choreography for it. Then you have Abe's CM song and then two songs from Tanpopo. For the new listeners, one of the reasons why they included these two songs on this album, including the Pucchi Moni song because two major members of Morning Musume have quit the group (Ishiguro Aya [Tanpopo] and Ichii Sayaka [Pucchi Moni]). Then you are treated with two tracks of the most recent and most popular Morning Musume songs ala remixed which were only available if you bought the vinyl (record) versions. So, it was cool to find these two hits on this compilation album. Then you get the recent hit from T&C Bomber. After this song, you then will hear tracks from solo artist Heike Michiyo and the enka track by Morning Musume member, Nakazawa Yuko. Then you get the two tracks from Hawaiian group, Coconuts Musume which consist of two Asian Americans (Japanese Americans and two Caucasians). Two members of the group have quit and after you hear the English version of "Summer Night Town" you'll understand why. The final track is the theme song for the Tsunku family variety show titled "Hello Morning" and the secret track after it is the awesome "Yamucharou" commercial song by Morning Musume. So, as you can see, this album is fully loaded with Japan's hottest idol groups at this time. If you are looking for serious singing, this is not the album to get. This is only for those who like idol pop songs which include not so great vocals but liked because of the girls and their cute vocals. I hope this makes sense. Otherwise for an idol pop album, this album is very good! Check it out!
