     AC Team members saw Margaret's movie this past weekend playing in Irvine. It's everything that the rave reviews are saying. We highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see one of this generation's most talented stand-up comic geniuses.

     Margaret entertains non-stop with her broad range of funny characters in topics from trash talk on sexuality, gay and lesbianism to endearing skits about her feisty Korean American mother. The most poignant moments are her funny but sad tales about her failed TV show "All-American Girl," the first network television show about an Asian American family, and her bouts with alcoholism and drug addiction.

     Her fight to break stereotypes, her true-life struggles from critics who thought she was not Asian enough, then too Asian - "this Asian thing," too fat ?�and then dumped from the system altogether. Cho suffered all this?�and more?�even from some shortsighted and cruel Asian American community leaders.

     Some of the theatre goers were returning to see the show for a second time, and they left the movie praising the show. We left the theatre praising how great Margaret is. She's not only a talented performer with a hit movie. Her battles to overcome her personal challenges are woven into her movie telling a story of a young woman who, against formidable odds, has simply triumphed.

     Comedienne Margaret Cho's new autobiographical movie "I'm The One That I Want" has won The New York Award for Performance of the Year from New York Magazine and a Mac Award! The movie debuted this summer across the country to rave reviews and continues its strong run this Fall in selected cities. Don't miss it!

Greetings from Team Cho,

     Hey, how's everyone? Seen any good movies lately? If you're in Portland or DC, the answer is probably "yes." Margaret Cho's "I'm the One that I Want" had the highest exclusive opening in DC and highest per screen average of any film in Portland when we opened in both cities Oct. 27th. And, we went up 17 % in our second weekend in DC. That's MAJOR word of mouth. Right now, you're probably thinking, "How can this film have such remarkable success, week after week?" The answer is BECAUSE YOU FOLKS KICK ASS!  We love our street teams.

     Listen, we have to tell you, Margaret's movie has a chance to make history. There have only been 3 films in the history of celluloid that have grossed more than a million dollars with less than 10 prints. Right now, we're knocking on the door of $600,000. It's awesome, but we still have a lot of work to do. Incidentally, please don't think that we're sitting around counting money. After a tiny bit of advertising and after the theatre takes its cut, we're lucky to see even 10% of that. Not to mention that we have to make up the cost of making the film! Call us crazy, but we believe in this movie and we're not gonna stop until we reach the top.

     So what's next? Well, we open in Milwaukee (Rosebud), Las Vegas (Village Square), and San Antonio (Crossroads) this Friday. Upcoming engagements include Austin, San Luis Obispo, Celeveland, Sacramento, Eugene, Portland...      On a closing note, we just want to say that we had a blast with everyone in West Hollywood on Halloween (or Margaret Cho Day). Got to meet some list people, and that's always cool. Margaret was a big hit as mayor for the day in her Bjork "Dancer in the Dark" garb. Fun stuff!
