"In the last two years, there has been a tremendous change in the face of American independent cinema as there are more Asian American features than ever and a record number of them have been receiving theatrical distribution," stated Vivian Huang, Festival Director, AAIFF. "As this inclination continues, the Asian American International Film Festival will be playing an even greater role in the world of independent cinema in the 21st century."
