Thailand's northern city of Chiang Mai has loads to offer, from some of the country's most beautiful temples to unusual handicrafts to delicious food. Chiang Mai was one of Thailand's oldest kingdoms and its ancient fortress wall is still largely intact. Despite the popularity of this city, it retains the laid-back charm of a small town. A weekend here will carry you through the following week in frenetic Bangkok with ease!
