AC
(DENNIS): When you are not working, what do you like to do for
fun?
GINA: I like to go on vacations, lay out at the beach, and
relax my mind, body and soul. Since the business is so fast paced,
I just like to slow down and rewind. There's this spa in West Hollywood
that I go to once in awhile, and my favorite is the full body wrap,
where they cover your body with some mask oil, and then a massage
from head to toe. It's the greatest feeling! I also like shopping,
going to the movies, driving around with friends, and just hanging
out. I'm just barely getting back into basketball. I played in high
school, and I miss it a lot now. It's hard though, when it's critical
not to break a nail, or risk a possible bruise because the acting
career has a lot to do with appearance!
AC
(DENNIS): You're definitely in great shape! What is your regiment
for staying in shape?
GINA: I have a personal trainer that I work with,
and I do a lot of cardio, along with a lot of abdominal work. Sometimes,
I get out to the outdoors, and he'll literally kill me with the
route he plans for me. But I owe him a lot....thanks John!
AC
(DENNIS): Where is your favorite shopping area and is there
a particular brand of clothing that you love wearing?
GINA: I like sexy clothes with taste. I'll shop on Melrose
or the Beverly Center for my dressier, club type outfits.
But then there's that home girl in me that likes to get down with
the fellas and switch to the urban hip-hop gear. In that realm,
I like Fubu Ladies, Baby Phat, Mecca, etc. Then, there are always
the classic designers like Guess and Tommy Girl. There's always
a time and place for everything.
AC
(DENNIS): What was your reaction when you were first approached
by a fan?
GINA: It felt surreal. It was something I always imagined,
but couldn't believe it was for real. I was at the Beverly Center
and a girl came up to me out of the blue and asked me for a picture
and an autograph. Even though I wasn't looking my best, I was just
appreciative of her. Lately, I've been receiving a lot of fan mail
and fan e-mails, and it's always exciting to read them. I make sure
I respond to each and every one of them.
AC
(DENNIS): Do you have ex-boyfriends coming back to you now that
you are now getting to become known as an Asian celebrity?
GINA: I still talk to some of my ex-boyfriends, because we're
still friends. I think that if anything, I'm the one that tend to
initiate getting back together, and they claim that they don't feel
they measure up to my needs because of my entertainment lifestyle.
That frustrates me because I believe that love has nothing to do
with each other's occupation or status in society, and it's a shame
that there are people in the world that go by that standard. My
last boyfriend was jealous that I put more time into my career rather
than him. He then made me an ultimatum. He made me choose between
him and my career. I didn't think twice. I was like PEACE OUT!
AC
(DENNIS): What qualities do you prefer in a guy?
GINA: Sensitivity, attentiveness, and a good heart.
AC
(DENNIS): What is the worst pick up line a guy has ever asked
you?
GINA: You're so sexy, you make me want to turn into a hormone."
What kind of lame nonsense is that?
AC (DENNIS): If there is one actor, model,
athlete or person you dream being with, who would it be?
GINA: I wouldn't mind Jason Momoa of Baywatch Hawaii...
AC
(DENNIS): What is your most embarrassing moment that you have
experienced during filming?
GINA: I was working on "100 girls" (due out later
this year) and was called to the set from my trailer. The base camp
(where the cast and crew trailers are stationed) was across the
street from the set, so I had to be escorted across the street with
the 1st AD (assistant director). My character outfit was really
revealing, and it stirred a lot of attention with the spectators
that were watching. They started whistling and hollering and it
was just embarrassing. Then the 1st AD sent a message over
the walkie-talkie saying "We need a jacket on Gina right now!
Please bring a cover up on her immediately, or else we cannot possibly
make it to the set!"
AC
(DENNIS): Do you listen to Japanese music or Asian Pop? Any
favorites?
GINA: I was never involved in the Japanese music scene, although
I was recently given a CD of Utada Hikaru, which I actually think
is pretty good.
AC
(DENNIS):
With the holiday season coming up, what is your favorite Christmas
memory?
GINA: When I was 5 years old, I wanted some weird toy called
"Pogo Ball." It's this ball with a platform ring around
it where you place your feet, and you jump around on it. It actually
looks a little like the planet Saturn. I remember just nagging my
mom to buy it for me, but for the longest time, she just wouldn't.
I actually wrote a wish letter to Santa Claus, sealed it, and convinced
my dad to take me to the post office, because I wanted to witness
putting it in the mailbox myself. (God knows where that thing really
went--I just addressed it to the North Pole) When Christmas day came,
my wish was granted. I got it! (From the so-called Santa) All I remember
was that it proved he exist, and that I was the coolest kid in the
world now that I got that thing.
AC
(DENNIS): What was Christmas like in the Hiraizumi household?
GINA: Every Christmas, my sisters and I were not allowed to
open gifts until everyone was up that morning. My dad would videotape
us coming down the stairs, and making our entrance into the living
room, where the Christmas tree and presents were located. It's so
funny now that I think about it, we would rehearse it, while my
dad narrated in the camera. We took it so seriously! Then, each
of us took turns opening our gifts one at a time, while my mom was
in charge of handling the wrapping paper trash that built up pretty
quickly. That night, we would go to my Auntie's house in Laguna
Hills for a family gathering, and go for a ride to look at all the
beautifully decorated Christmas lights. To this day, it's still
fascinating to me.
AC
(DENNIS): Now, what's your Christmas wish for the year?
GINA: For Santa to bring me a rather rare gift....the perfect
boyfriend.
AC
(DENNIS): Do you have any final words for your fans?
GINA: Thank you deeply from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate
you all, and want to hear from you! Look out for my official website
