The
Cast of East West Players' "Follies"
Ai
Goeku is honored to be returning to the EWP stage with such an impressive
cast and crew. Previous EWP appearances include "Beijing Spring"
(Girlfriend) and "One Night Only." She was also in the Broadway
and 2nd National Tour Companies of "Miss Saigon" where
she played Yvette and understudied and performed the role of Ellen.
Other credits include "Hello," "Dolly" (Minnie Fay), "Bye Bye Birdie"
(Ursula), "The King and I," and "West Side Story."
Ben Gonio graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama
with a BFA in Acting. Regional theater credits include "Black
Elk Speaks" for The Shoreline Theater, "Contents Under Pressure" for
The Alice B. Theater in Seattle, "West Side Story" for The Rogue Music
Theater in Oregon, and "The Story of Baghwandi Prabuphada" through
The Seattle Fringe Theater Festival. Musical theater experience include
"Oklahoma," "42nd Street," and "Brigadoon." Ben also just
finished musical staged readings of "Merci Beaucoup" for The Lehman
Engle Music Theater Workshop, "Caribe, Caribe!" for The Disney ASCAP
presentations, "Chang & Eng" for Broadway USA presentations at
The Falcon Theater. Film credits include "Jobs: A Way Out" for PBS,
"Secrets Revealed," "Model Minority," "Blue Love," and "Bracing L.A.
Snow."
Linda Igarashi credits include productions with East West Players,
James Clavell's "Shogun, The Musical" (Broadway), "Miss
Saigon" (Toronto), "Beauty and the Beast" (Los Angeles),
"The King and I" (U.S. National Tour with Haley Mills and
Marie Osmond), the Academy Award winning short film, "Visas and
Virtues," and most recently "Much Ado About Nothing"
(Don Pedro) at the Globe Stage in Topanga Canyon.
Denise Iketani's EWP appearances include "Pacific Overtures"
(Ovation Award nomination), "Hero," "Dance and Sing
for the Holidays," "29 and 1/2 Dreams," and "Into
the Woods." L.A. theater appearances include S.T.A.G.E.
benefits XII and XIII, P.A.W.S. LA (Pasadena Playhouse), "Tofu
2000," "The Grapevine" (LATC), and "Sayonara"
(Alex Theater). Denise is very active as an artist/educator, teaching
workshops to students and teachers in L.A. and Orange County.
Presently, she is an instructor for the Migrant Education Fine Arts
Academy, the Americorps' Tell Me A Story Literacy Program, and the
Los Angeles Music Center, Education Division. Denise's television
appearances include "Sunset Beach," "Chicago Hope,"
Club 34," and "General Hospital."
